What is SypinIQ?
SypinIQ makes AI products for the AVEVA PI System: two assistants that answer plant data questions in plain language (in Microsoft Copilot and inside PI Vision), three PI Vision symbols for limits, recorded values and forecasting, and the platform that connects them to PI.
What is the difference between SypinIQ-X and SypinIQ-Pro?
SypinIQ-X is an agent for Microsoft 365 Copilot, used from Teams, Outlook or the Copilot app, and runs on the Copilot licenses you already have. SypinIQ-Pro lives inside PI Vision, knows which display you are on and uses the AI provider you choose. Many sites use both, which is why they come together as the AI Assistants Duo.
Do the PI Vision symbols need an AI subscription?
No. The SOL Symbol, PI DataTable and Period Compare are PI Vision custom symbols that read PI through PI Web API. Period Compare's predictive models run on your own servers, so no external AI provider is involved.
Which PI versions are supported?
The symbols are built for PI Vision 2023. The AI products need a reachable PI Web API endpoint. Tell us your versions and we'll confirm compatibility before you buy.
What is MCP, and why would we want it?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for connecting AI agents to tools and data. SypinIQ-Plus is an MCP server for PI: Claude, Copilot Studio or your own agents can search tags and read values, history and summaries, with sign-in and an audit log.
Security and IT
Does any PI data leave our network?
The symbols and the platform run entirely inside your network. SypinIQ-Pro sends the question and the relevant values to the AI provider you choose, which can be your own Azure OpenAI deployment. SypinIQ-X answers through your Microsoft 365 tenant, so data follows your existing Microsoft agreement.
Can SypinIQ write to PI or to the control system?
No. SypinIQ connects through PI Web API with a read-only account and never talks to the DCS or opens PI's internal ports.
Which ports do we need to open?
SypinIQ-Plus listens on TCP 8443 by default (configurable at install) and reaches PI Web API over HTTPS 443. SypinIQ-X also needs the SypinIQ-Plus endpoint to be reachable from Microsoft 365 over TLS. The full matrix is on the security page.
How do users sign in?
With their corporate Microsoft Entra ID account. Access can be limited to a single Entra group, and every question is recorded in the audit log.
Does it work on segmented OT networks?
Yes, it is designed for them. The platform only needs HTTPS to PI Web API, and the license validates offline. We'll review your architecture, including any data diodes, before you buy.
Licensing and buying
How is it licensed?
Per server, renewed yearly. One key turns on the products you bought, and adding a product later means applying a new key. The license is checked offline, so it works on isolated networks.
Do we need an AI subscription?
Not for SypinIQ-X, which uses the Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses you already have, and not for the symbols. SypinIQ-Pro needs an API key for Azure OpenAI, OpenAI or Anthropic Claude.
Can we start with one product and add more later?
Yes. Every product can be licensed on its own. When you add one, you apply a new key; nothing is reinstalled.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the number of servers and sites, so we quote per project. Build your package or ask for a quote.

Can we try it first?
Yes. We run a guided proof of concept on a test server with your own tags. Ask for one here.
What do we need on site?
A Windows Server 2019 or 2022 machine, a reachable PI Web API with a read-only account, and PI Vision 2023 for the symbols and SypinIQ-Pro. See site requirements.
How long does installation take?
One Windows installer sets up the service, the admin console and the PI Vision files. Most sites are live in an afternoon; security approvals usually take longer than the install.
